Team, technical, or systemic challenges? I’m here to help

Hi, I’m Dan, and my mission is to help organisations, teams, and individuals thrive in this complex, unpredictable, and technically demanding world.

When a by-the-book approach doesn’t fit your situation or when others have tried and failed, please reach out. We’ll explore your context and co-create a customised approach that works for you.

Team Challenges

High-performing teams are the engines of performance in the 21st Century, but sadly true high-performance is rare. All too often teams end up working harder, not smarter, burning out in a superficial quest for high performance for want of solid fundamentals and organisational support. Let’s change that!

It is such a different world today – and the team are so much happier for it.

They are empowered, clear about deliverables, challenged, valued and meeting commitments. It is wonderful.

Annette Neeson, General Manager, Telstra Marketing

Technical Challenges

Legacy code is code that software developers are afraid to change. Without understanding how to safely fix and remodel it, productivity plummets, morale sinks, and your best talent leaves for greener pastures. The good news is that there are great techniques to address this problem. The bad news is that they are not well-known. Is it time for your teams to bite the bullet and learn how to put the Legacy Genie back in the bottle?

We saw a consistent decline over a period of 6 months in new bugs in each release.

Over the next 7 months, 7 releases were completed, and the bug rate dropped by up to 80%.

Callum Rosel, Software Development Manager, Conserve It

Systemic Challenges

At the organisational level, transformation is a tough game with no quick fix or magic wand. For real change that sticks, Agile or otherwise, leaders and change agents must learn to deeply understand the complex organisational systems that we inhabit. Technical and structural change is insufficient: social, emotional, and cultural challenges must be explored and addressed. You’re going to need a great coach and guide to help!

[Dan’s] exceptional understanding of Systems Thinking guaranteed our success when working on the visualisation of our system constraints and the development of data-driven models for decision-making.

His methodical approach coupled with excellent coaching skills was crucial in the development of understanding of our constraints and bottlenecks.
